The weird and good of Oregon

Thank the Lord, I finally found a place where my floatation devices work on land and not water

This might be good reason why the job market is so bad. Under the wanted it says "Mature only please". Now here is the kicker, the store with the help wanted sign......A toy store.

The one really cool thing about the mighty green state of Oregon, cheap Red Bull, awesome.

Seaside swingset

This last weekend I was in Oregon with some family for my cousins' wedding, and hopefully some of the next posts will be from that trip. While we where staying in Seaside, I was out walking along the beach and saw this swing sitting there, and then the idea came about, I should go get some Redbull.

Blast from past

Almost 10 years ago when I use to scream into a microphone for a band. We use to play with this band called "Straightforward". They where one of the bands that I respected allot. Of course like bands come and go and people join and star other bands. Jeremy was in that band and after they where done, I heard that he started this band called "The Foot Clan". I came to find out that they where playing a reunion show that I was already going to. It was just an amazing time to sit and talk with him and revisit the good old days.

Of course he remembered that one show where we played at a church right next to a wal-mart. During each song, I would talk into the mic like it was the loud speaker in the store. "Hey wal-mart shoppers, there is a blue light special on..........." But they never remember the show where after a song I ran into a burning house to save a life.

Five finger death punch

I am a big fan of kung fu films, and enjoy them greatly. I just read that David Carradine passed away. He did many great thing in the martial arts films. One of my favorite films that he was in was "Kill Bill" and the awesome classic "Death Race 2000". Thankyou for making great works, he will be missed.

I want to be a Sunday School Teacher

Stephanie Martin is an amazing Sunday School director, and I have always been amazed to see her do the job with heart over and over again. Every quarter she is always looking for new teachers, and lately she has been plugin my photography. So as a thankyou for being the director, I made this little video one after noon. Jonah Bennett, one of the kids from the church was there that day, so I asked him to help out rather than just having the camera on the tripod. My main goal was to have my nephew help me, but he doesn't come until the end of June. Also, yes, I got the Idea from the Manning one from the the digital short on snl.

now my car is dirty

I left from the awesome farmers market hanging out with cool friends. I went to go pick up some prints and saw that the sky was covered in clouds and they where giving an awesome light show from all the lightning. I rushed home, grabbed my camera and went looking for the best spot.

I got out to where I thought would be the best, and lightning was all around me. The only problem was the wind was so bad that it created real bad visibility from all the dust. So after some time I finally got to where the firemen do their training and sat there. It was windy and rainy, so I shot threw my windshield.

I left the camera in the front seat, left the shutter at bulb and closed down to f22, and just drove around.

At the races

This last Sunday, my dad was asked to give the start of the races prayer thingy. He asked if I wanted to come along, so I grabbed my camera, and we chilled while watching things drive around in a counter clockwise. I took a could of shoots around the place. After only being there about 45 min, my dad said that we should go get pizza and see the new terminator movie.

graffiti comp.

About three or four months ago, I posted about the graffiti artist that I just happened to find. Well, a couple weeks ago, one of them email me and told me about this huge graffiti show going on in Fresno, something like 50 artist. So went and enjoyed even thou it was really hot. The title picture on the top (The Mix Tape) come from that show. This pano is pretty cool, the wall was a little bit longer than a quarter mile, it was pretty awesome.

I wish somehow, I knew how to do this art. I know some people look at it and think some stupid street artist, but man is it so cool. Just sitting there watching what these artist can do with a spray paint can. Awesome

It's Rex Manning day

Ron

Sorry about the title, it has nothing to do with the post, I am just watching "Empire Records" as I do this. Last night This Cable Cars Off Track did a beniffet show for Toms shoes, which is a really awesome company. Now, I was trying to get all the band but I couldn't find all of them, and the light just kept leaving.

Why do I try?

As I walked to the show to see what I got, I turned and saw my heart get crushed and punched all at the same time. I heard my picture had a ribbon on it. But before I saw which one, I saw the second place, and then the first place picture. I got third.

Here is the deal, if a picture is truly better than mine, truly better, than I have no problem getting third, I would be thrilled. But when I heard that there was only one judge and she was friends of the people, (ok, blood pressure starting to rise).

Much mucho thanks goes out to everyone and Steph Martin that plugged the event and went out and cheered for me, thankyou so much. I have awesome firends.

Here are the two pictures that I entered,

If you are thinking, Stephen is just being a jerk becasue he got third, the other pictures where better. Do this, take a white piece of paper, wet it, brun it, or do anything and it would be better. To tell the truth, a blank white sheet of paper would even be better than those two pictures

Soon to be the finish

So here is the one that I was thinking of entering, now the part that I am asking you, is which one do you like better. The 360 pan of civic park (the last post, which was not finished). Or this new one, which is all the buildings around civic park. You can be honest, you will not hurt my feelings. Now I am asking about the pictures, not my dance moves. If you talk about my dance moves, then we will battle dance.

One last time, before I punch someone

In a couple of weeks, the kings art center is having their mothers day art show and competition. This competition and I have a very bad past together. Let just say, that I am the first one to say, if another picture that is better than mine, then they should win. But if that picture wins because its the wife of a man that donates allot of money. Well, it is just another life lesson. This picture is just a test and is not the finish, but you can see what I am doing for one of them. It is a complete 360 degree view of civic park in Hanford.
